We are SO CLOSE to meeting our goal of raising $10,000 to hire our first staff member! May 2016 is our 5th anniversary (go us!), and we are looking for organizations, individuals and businesses to sponsor our final fundraising push.
What do you mean “sponsor?”
We mean we want you to put up an amount of money you are comfortable giving to the organization as a matching contribution, and we will use that money as a “carrot” to get our members to donate. For example, you feel comfortable giving $500 (or $50 or $5,000…) – we will work to get members to donate money that is matched by you, up to $500. Member donations get doubled in their impact.
What’s in it for me?
You get the publicity AND you get to feel good. We’re hoping for multiple donors throughout the month of May, and you, as a sponsor, will get sole attention until your grant is matched! We’ll post YOUR matching grant on our Facebook group of 21,000 moms, on our Twitter account, on our brand-new Instagram account and on our blog! We are also a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, so your donation brings tax benefits!
What are you going to do with the money?
Breastfeed Chicago has been completely volunteer run for nearly five years. We need a part-time staff member to help us with communications, keep up with organizational goals, and make sure we continue to be an important part of the breastfeeding movement in Chicago. We are working to create a breastfeeding-friendly Chicagoland, and we need a staff member to help us do it.
How much are you trying to raise?
We’ve raised a little over $6,000 toward our $10,000 goal so far. If we can meet or surpass that goal by the end of May, we’ll be happy campers.
Can’t I just give you money and not worry about the matching grant?
Of course. You can give here.
Note: Sponsoring businesses and organizations must be WHO Code compliant. A summary of the code is here.
